ENUM is a system for telephone number mapping standardized by RFC2916 and RFC6116. The ENUM system unifies the international telephone number system with the Internet addressing namespaces (DNS hosts from a special namespace e164.arpa). Each phone number can be represented by the E.164 standard with a DNS resolvable hostname. For example the phone number +1 555 555-1234 is resolvable by E.164 with the hostname 22.214.171.124.126.96.36.199.5.5.1.e164.arpa
ClouDNS managed DNS service provides an option to create both primary and secondary E.164 zones. Read the documentation here for more details on how to create E.164 zones.
As it was already described, the E.164 standard provides hostnames which can be resolved by the domain name system. Telecom administrators can create NAPTR DNS records for these hostnames to interact with the phone traffic, for example, which server to handle the phone calls for the given number.
Create ENUM zones just in seconds from the web control panel or automatically with our HTTP API.
