How to delegate a sub-domain to other DNS servers (DNS Provider)
In this article, we will show you how to delegate DNS-management for some subdomain to a different DNS provider.
Let's say you have a Master DNS zone for domain name example.net here which is active and resolving to our DNS service. If you haven't followed our article on how to delegate the DNS management for your root domain to ClouDNS, please check this link: https://www.cloudns.net/wiki/article/355/
We assume that you have completed all the needed steps, but now you wish to add a sub-domain for subdomain.example.net and delegate this sub-domain to different DNS provider. In order this setup to work correctly, please note that you must first create a DNS zone for your sub-domain at your other DNS provider. For example, you need to create a DNS zone for subdomain.example.net which is active and resolving to the required Name servers. After all of this is set up you can now follow the steps below:
Step 1. Go to your DNS zone management page for example.net and add NS records for the Name servers of your other DNS provider.
Step 2. To add NS records, please click on “Add new record”. Type, as follow:
Points to: (Here you need to type the name server of the other DNS provider, for example, ns1.otherdnsprovider.net)
Points to: (Here you need to type the name server of the other DNS provider, for example, ns2.otherdnsprovider.net)
